Close to airport, quite a bus ride from Downtown but it is not expensive, self check in and check out (didn't see any owners to interact with). The rooms/bathrooms/kitchen areas are perfectly adequate for back packers, if you are looking for luxury you need to pay more and go elsewhere. The suburb felt safe after dark for a solo female traveller, it is dark but take a torch/phone, no issues at all. Basically fab place, not more that 10mins walk from public transport stops. (Easy entry via Booking.com messages from the property owner, good value for money).

- Very good price. - Great neighbourhood, very walkable and safe with public transit nearby, decently close to the airport as well. - 2 water bottles were provided. - Host was friendly and responsive even if we did not meet in person.

- The basement definitely has a bit of a musty, wet smell, especially in the bedrooms and bathroom. There are mystery stains and scuffs on the walls and furniture. Luckily none seemed to be on the bed at least. - You will definitely hear noises at night from upstairs, from footfall or things being dropped on the ground. The walls are quite thin.

Sheets appeared clean, but hadn't been changed. Could use an AC or a window fan. Has a floor-type fan that could be placed near the window to help cool the room, though.

Good location and easily accessible via bus N10 or N16. More comfortable bed and room than expected so it’s a good value for money. Clean room and bathroom. I especially thankful that when I thought the door was locked (it wasn’t) John was able to come out despite it being so late and didn’t make me feel guilty. I hope I can come back next time I need a place to sleep in Vancouver.
