You won't be sorry. Yves and Melissa do those little things that make one feel like an honored guest, not just a revenue source. And they took an interest in our needs without being intrusive. The apartment is spotless and spacious, with a private deck which affords a view of the harbor and of the ocean, and of the neighboring island, Moorea. The full-sized kitchen has not just a fridge and a range, but a slow cooker so you can have a hot meal waiting for you on your return after a day of exploring. There's a washing machine so that you can cut your packing load by half. The bed is comfortable. The wi-fi works. Google Maps gives it as about a 30-minute walk all the way to the ferry. That's probably pretty accurate unless you are, as we were, two 76-year-olds, one with an injured knee. There's a 200-foot elevation gain, mostly in the final third of the route, on your return. If your pace _is_ that of a pair of 76-year-olds with an injured knee in the party, do as we did and walk down, take a $10US taxi back up.

Not their fault, and they _did_ communicate with us pretty well. But for the best communication, because of data rates from Tahiti, preferred method is What'sApp. Who knows--maybe one day these geezers will figure out how to install and use it on our phones.
