SCAM ALERT! Foreign-guest extortion, revolting hygiene, avoid at all costs! Review: I have never left a one-star review on Booking.com—until now. This place redefined the word “shameless.” 1. Immediate extortion upon arrival Two adults, two nights, paid in full through Booking. The moment we stepped in, an elderly man claiming to be the owner insisted we had only paid half and demanded another 50 % on the spot. I showed him the Booking confirmation and my bank statement; he simply tossed the papers back and said, “Take it or leave it—you can cancel your reservation right now and find somewhere else.” That’s outright blackmail at 9 p.m. in a foreign city. 2. Disgusting sanitation The eight-bed dorm reeked of stale socks mixed with sewer gas. The shared bathroom was a horror scene: toilet clogged, fecal water overflowing onto the floor, black grime everywhere. We slept in our masks and still woke up with headaches from the stench. 3. Business on the brink of collapse A water-utility shut-off notice was taped to the front door—unpaid bills. If the owner can’t cover basic utilities, no wonder he tries to double-charge guests. 4. Facilities Wi-Fi was practically nonexistent, dropping every few minutes. Summary: This is not a hotel; it’s a fraud operation disguised as lodging. In Washington, D.C.—capital of one of the world’s richest countries—such blatant scamming is appalling. I have reported the property to Booking, the D.C. tourism board, and consumer-protection agencies. All receipts, photos, and bank records are saved for legal action if necessary. Fellow travelers, STAY AWAY!

Close to things I wanted to do or a short bus ride away. Staff were great. Rooms were not full ( I guess some people don’t wish to stay here )

No microwave, no soap in bathroom shower container, no paper to dry hands in any bathrooms, no AC was on, no utensils, electric hot water kettle has white stuff pealing off the heating coils.

Bedroom and bathroom door were very difficult to open and close. You basically had to end up slamming them which makes an awful racket. Not good when folks sre trying to sleep!

Ordeur pestilencielle dès l'entrée des lieux. Cuisine peu équipée (pas de micro-onde, pas de vaisselle), Isolation sonore inexistante (j'entendais tout ce qui se passait dans les toilettes car ma chambre en était séparée par un mur). La caution pour la carte d'accès au bâtiment ne m'a pas été rendu car pas de personnel à l'heure de mon départ. La qualité du wifi était médiocre. La salle de bain ne comportait pas de rideau de douche, ni de crochet pour suspendre le linge et le savon pour se laver les mains était très dilué.
