Greeted by a gentleman that informed me that all guests need photo id to stay in the hotel. I stay here at least once a month - and this new addition to the process seems a bit ridiculous. First of all - I am disabled and do not hold a driving licence. I do, thankfully, have a valid passport but I don't tend to expect to need that to stay in Manchester. Consequently I did not have the required documents. I was told they were just informing customers for now - so not to worry. But let's be clear here: You have the details of the card I booked with, you can take payment if for whatever reason I don't check in. If you refuse me the room because of a passport requirement - your own policy states you can take payment regardless. And if I DID NOT have a valid passport, what exactly would that mean? Am I to expect that your establishment now does not cater for disabled or older people, young visitors to town (students) or anyone else that might for whatever reason not hold an id that you have suddenly decided is needed, or not expect to have to bring it to a UK city break because... Well... It's a UK city break 🤣 Are you putting this on the booking details to warn people? Basically... What is the reason for the change and how are you planning to manage this properly so that it doesn't disadvantage particular customer groups?

Location , within walking distance of stations , shops ,attractions and restaurants, you don’t even have to go outside a lot of the restaurants can be reached through the hotel. Rooms are spacious with well equipped kitchenette,comfy beds and good showers.
