Avis des voyageurs

I stayed in the Polynesian Cabins by Kon Tiki last year (May 2025,) so I knew ahead of this year's trip (Aug/Sept 2026) that this would be the perfect accommodations to meet my needs. This year, I actually stayed 3 times: 2 nights, August 27-29; 1 night, September 11-12; and my third "stay" was on September 24 on a "Day Pass". Each time I had a wonderful stay, and I doubt that I'll ever stay anywhere else when in Papeete. The location is unmatched for convenience of onward travel, and for exploring Tahiti Island. The accommodations offered everything I need in a hotel. The room was clean and quiet & the bed was very comfortable. The shared bath/shower facilities were always clean and available when I needed them. The staff at the front desk is friendly and very helpful, and always reflect a "can-do" attitude for any requests I've had. In the past they've arranged some excellent tours for me too! Also, I especially want to call out the "Day Pass," a great concept whereby a limited number of guests can buy access to the Sun Deck to relax & refresh while waiting for any onward travel - including use of the shared showers & bathrooms, and checking luggage for the day. I was traveling solo the past 2 years, but if I ever get back to Tahiti with my wife, I'd just move up a notch, out of the Polynesian Cabins and into a private room on the Kon Tiki Hotel's upper floors. The prices are quite reasonable, regardless of what accommodations you choose at the Kon Tiki Hotel! Finally, the Reeftop Bar on the top floor opens at 4 p.m. and is a perfect spot to watch sunset over the Harbor, with Moorea in the distance. Also there's very good restaurant, also with a view, for an excellent meal on the floor below the Reeftop Bar. And finally, there is an excellent coffee shop that's open for breakfast & lunch just off the lobby on the first floor.

Just keep doing what they're already doing so well! It ain't broke, so don't try to fix it! More hotels in many places should take a lesson from the Kon Tiki. They understand what's most important to travelers, and they deliver at a very reasonable price.

Directly Opposite the Ferry Terminal. Easy to Walk Over if You Are going to Moorea, which I did. Nice chill out Area.

Rooms Are tiny, so Bear that in mind. There is nothing much but a bed. I had a upstairs Bunker bed. Quite a hassle to get out of there and Go to the bathroom during the Night. Guess a low bed is more convenient. Maybe ask for that upon arrival if that is possible

Non.
