Service was impeccable - everyone went above and beyond to help us with any questions we had, made us feel so welcome, provided us with amazing amenities and were incredibly accommodating to us with our reservation mistakes. The room was so spacious and clean, we loved how big the shower was and the bed was really comfortable! The hotel was in a great location right by a bus stop but was also very quiet for sleeping. The front desk staff, especially Katie Ireland, truly saved our vacation!

Service was impeccable - everyone went above and beyond to help us with any questions we had, made us feel so welcome, provided us with amazing amenities and were incredibly accommodating to us with our reservation mistakes. The room was so spacious and clean, we loved how big the shower was and the bed was really comfortable! The hotel was in a great location right by a bus stop but was also very quiet for sleeping. The A/C unit could be quieter and have a softer air circulation. It was either on full blast or off.

Old decor Double beds were on the small side

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. The hotel is very nicely decorated in a lodge motiff and well maintained. We paid extra for the queen room with mountain views and it didn't disappoint. VERY NICE! The room was spacious and nicely appointed with high end tile finishes in the bathroom. The staff was kind enough to acknowledge our 25th wedding anniversary with a decorated chocolate roll dessert. VERY NICE! The hotel provided complimentary Roam bus passes and the location was very convenient to the bus route that took you downtown and as far as the Banff Gondola, and it appeared many of hotel guests took advantage of the courtesy city bus. Room cleaning services were excellent...the in-room coffee, tea and hot chocolate was stocked based upon personal request.

Neither of us were fans of the Sudden Sally cafe on-site.. We only had breakfast once, but our orders were both incorrect and there were at least 2 other parties sitting near us that sent their food back to the kitchen for being incorrect or improperly prepared. There are MANY other good choices for food only a 10-minute bus ride away.

I loved the location on the Banff strip, the view from our balcony, and the shower. Loved the hot water kettle, and sink area.

The parking spaces are way too small, the fridge was way to small, didn't get very cold, and didn't have a freezer to keep our cooler packs frozen. The beds were not comfortable- the bed liner was very loud so everytime you repositioned it made noise. Also had stains on the linens.

The Canoe Suites was comfortable, clean and lovely hotel. Beds were comfortable (better than other places in the Parks). The staff was welcoming and parking was convenient. We loved the heated pool with lovely views. The restaurant on-site was very nice with lovely food options for brunch.

Distance to downtown (I clearly underestimated the size of Banff, especially compared to Jasper). It is very nice though that the hotel provides free shuttle tickets to get to downdown, Cave and Basin and other places. However the shuttles are not always that frequent. Also the hotel promotes the use of public transport (which makes sense as it is extremely touristy and overwhelmed during the summer), but some places you can easily take the car (e.g. Banff Gondola if you arrive before 8am) and it's easier than the shuttle at that time.
