This hotel offered excellent value for money. Its location right next to the station made using the subway incredibly convenient, and being situated between the train station and various historical sites made getting around very easy. Even the auto-rickshaw drivers knew exactly where it was! I also discovered—a bit late, but a welcome surprise nonetheless—that there was a liquor store nearby. I picked up a couple of beers, grabbed some food from a nearby McDonald’s, and enjoyed it all on the hotel rooftop—it was absolutely fantastic!

I picked up a couple of beers, grabbed some food from a nearby McDonald’s, and enjoyed it all on the hotel rooftop—it was absolutely fantastic!

As is often the case with budget hotels, the facilities were quite worn down. The faucet wouldn’t close completely and kept leaking, and there were no hangers or any space provided to hang clothes in the room. The chair was also rather dirty, making me reluctant to sit on it. Furthermore, you cannot expect much in the way of personal assistance or accommodation from the staff. I had booked an auto-rickshaw (a three-wheeled taxi), but due to a change in my schedule, I needed to cancel it a day in advance. I sent several text messages and made calls to the driver’s Indian phone number, but received no response. I asked the front desk to handle the cancellation for me; they agreed, but ultimately took no action. The next morning, the rickshaw driver arrived and waited in front of the lobby for two hours—yet the front desk staff never bothered to inform him of the cancellation. It was an extremely awkward and difficult situation.
