This was our favorite hotel during the time we spent in China. The staff speak fluent English and are kind, helpful and friendly. The rooms are beautiful, the food for breakfast and at the restaurant is great. The location is also excellent, close to some nice parks and historic Kinzhau alley.

We were welcomed with an upgrade to a family room (on the 3rd floor) which came with fresh fruit, wine, tea, coffee and water. 2 large bedrooms, a large bathroom (with bath) and a dressing area. Small table and a couple of chairs outside on the corridor with wonderful views of the traditional roofs and courtyard restaurant below. Good English spoken too, the hotel as well as restaurant staff were also very friendly. Absolutely fabulous and affordable meals in the restaurant. The location is excellent in a traditional street and nearby Culture Park and Taoist Temple and a short walk to the wonderful Kuanzhai Alleys. Metro a few minutes away for easy travelling to see the pandas.

The initial room was on the ground floor and there was a musty smell. Paid extra to upgrade to a family room on the 1st floor and got nothing to complain here. :)
