Not being able to get hold of the hotel without a local Sim. Maybe a good idea to have a WhatsApp number to be able to book airport transfer from airport using wifi.

We already stayed at this hotel last year. Back then our review was full of enthusiasm. This time there was less excitement — no novelty effect anymore. But the hotel is good! And its main advantage is that despite the airport and runways being nearby, the rooms are quiet. You can really get a good, proper sleep. If I have long layovers in Guangzhou again, I will definitely stay at this hotel.

Comfortable bed, quiet room - except for the neighbor who left and left an alarm on... and on... and on... vending machine in the lobby with reasonable prices; evening (10pm to midnight) "snacks" in containers. Plenty of hot water for showers.
