We stayed at Secrets Puerto Vallarta from March 8–15, 2026. The food was excellent, the resort was very clean, and most staff were friendly and attentive. However, the experience was undermined by two incidents where I was abruptly asked to leave the pool after 8:00 a.m. while lap swimming—despite no clear policy and in a way that was unnecessarily embarrassing. More concerning, management promised follow-up but never did—neither during our stay nor afterward. A quality resort with strong fundamentals, but disappointing handling of a simple issue keeps this from being a top-tier experience.

What a beautiful resort! From the lobby to the rooms to the beautiful grounds and pools. The service everywhere was above expectation. All staff were so friendly and helpful. The view from the upper floor rooms is fabulous.

This was our second visit to this resort. We have been to 4 different Secret Resorts in the past few years. It seems that there is greater focus on attracting large loud wedding parties on every day of the week instead of taking care of your loyal guests. Almost every night we were bombarded by loud DJ’s and screaming wedding guests from dusk onwards. Restaurant options were limited, food and service were inconsistent. Management or supervision was nonexistent. We will not be Secrets loyal guests any longer. Beautiful resorts that are poorly run.

We just got back from a wonderful week at Secrets, and loved all of it. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and treated ourselves to the adults-only portion of the resort. Our concierge/butler Jose Becerra really made the stay special. We received a bottle of sparkling wine for our stay, he set us up with the reserved sections of the restaurants, helped me find offsite places to visit and shop, and so on. He gave me his personal phone number to make sure I could reach out at any time for any requests. He even brought up chocolate covered strawberries halfway through our stay with a congratulations message written in chocolate! The food was consistently great, including the ceviche and the aguachile at the poolside grille. Even the room service was prompt and tasty. It’s clearly coming from the same restaurant kitchens, so it’s a pleasant treat just to stay in the room and relax over dinner. One note, the restaurants on the family side were a bit loud and the architecture of the restaurants doesn’t do much to muffle the noise. The resort is located very conveniently in PV, less than 5 minutes from the historic downtown tourist attractions. A $100peso cab ride will put you right where all the fun is! We went right after the cartel issues, but we experienced no problems, and the staff and local people made us feel welcome and appreciated. Definitely on our list to stay again!

What a beautiful resort! They were fully accommodating to all of our needs and provided a peaceful and relaxing vacation for my friends and me. We would definitely consider another trip to this or a different Secrets Resorts and Spa location. Highly recommend.

I must admit, we almost didn't go at all. We were set to go one week after the recent "incident" as everyone seems to call it and we were very reluctant to still go. It would be our first time. Lucky for me, we had other friends that left out the week before us which was immediately after the incident. They were able to call us daily and ease our minds while reminding us to not listen to everything one sees on the news today. Deciding to still go was the best decision ever. I had the time of my life. I NEVER felt unsafe or uneasy about anything. I even left the resort many times, went to the farmers market, walked downtown every day and at night. Not only is it beautiful, I felt totally safe at all times. I also didn't see all the "destruction" the news spoke of. I saw one, maybe two burned out stores. As for the resort property itself, amazing! Great rooms, we stayed on the preferred club side, great pool and atmosphere, great food and restaurants. All of these things contributed to a great first Mexico trip. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, we even had different pillows we could request. The pool and grounds are stunning. Even met the head landscaper Juan and it only took minutes to realize he loves this property as if it were his own. What really set our trip over the top though was the staff at this amazing resort. From the start our concierge team of Jose and Nirvana were just simply remarkable and could almost sense and act on a request before it was even made. EVERY day, EVERY moment greeted with smiles, hugs, questions about how everything was going. I was even able to directly text with our butler Jose. Just a top notch guy. I was even more impressed with the text I received from him ON HIS DAY OFF....just letting me know that he is still there for us and whatever we may need. Not very often you see service like this these days. The pool and waitstaff including Manual, Hugo, Alejandro, Emilio, Jorge, Alfonso, Jonathan and Caleb. Man do I miss them today. They NEVER let a drink run dry, a plate sit empty or a request or need go unchecked. Matter of fact, I never even once had to visit a pool bar for my own drink, yet I also never needed one. This group of people is on the ball and all of them truly made our trip what it was. One can have a great resort all day long but without the right staff you just have a fancy building and grounds. I truly feel that the staff here makes the experience what it is. I could have had half the amenities of this place and no doubt would have still had the awesome time we had here. I stayed 8 nights but I wish it was 16! Truly one of a kind experience and I can't thank them enough. A true fan for life and I already cannot wait to get back. Side Note - Should you want to do something fun like ride horses, jet ski, parasail, or anything really...no need to go far. Go down to the beech and see Jessie. He can set you up with anything. Fair price and just an all around great guy. Tell him the majestic horse rider Josh sent you. He will know. I rode jet skies, parasailed and rode horses....all from Jesse. He took great care of us.

I love this resort, The people is so friendly, Misael at the preferred bar was the best 👌 🍸 Caramelo with his crepes was delightful 🍧 Alberta at the quesadilla station supper nice and Daniel at the Sushi place 🍥🥢made an amazing Sushi and also went above and beyond customizing Sushi for my seafood alergic husband 😍😍😍😍 and the cherry on top was Whales visiting us 🐳😍😍😍
