The hotel is modernizing but the room is clean and of a size in line with the dimensions in Japan. A bit outside the center but convenient metro for getting around. Excellent breakfast. Recommended.

An alternative hotel, in a well-kept industrial style with attention to art and vintage. The spaces were spacious and the staff very kind. Excellent breakfast with a bit of a Northern European style. The neighborhood was quiet, but the location was strategic for reaching Kyoto's tourist attractions by public transport.

It may have been cheap, but I think it couldn't be helped that it was a bit far from Kyoto Station. Kyoto is hot, so it was quite tiring to walk 20 minutes to the station.
