Multiple reviews mention a persistent smell of cigarette smoke in hallways, dirty elevators (papers on floor) and poor ventilation despite some rooms noted as clean.
Staff are frequently described as professional, welcoming and helpful (reception praised), though a few incidents of rudeness/pushy behaviour (coffee shop manager, checkout receptionist) were reported.
Consistently praised: outstanding location on the Nile with excellent views and a prime position — repeatedly cited as a main positive.
Several reviewers report small rooms and bathrooms, outdated/worn furniture, poor curtains and insufficient sound insulation; some rooms still make a good first impression but renovation is needed.
Good lobby, breakfast offerings and general facilities noted positively; negatives include slow elevators, ventilation issues and occasional missing guest toilet shataf.
Mixed feedback: some guests felt the hotel is ‘money-minded’ or experienced pushy requests for payments, while others felt the stay justified the price.
Breakfast and food receive strong praise (amazing breakfast, delicious food); isolated service rudeness in the coffee shop noted but overall F&B is a highlight.
Majority of stays described as memorable and wonderful due to location, staff and food; some disturbance from boat noise, crowds and smoking reduce perfection but overall impressions are highly positive.

I was surprised that the hotel charges $75 (~3800 Egypt pounds) for a ride to the airport, where I took a taxi (Uber) for only 459 Egyptian pounds?!?! I stayed four days, and only had one day of breakfast because of the 'unacceptable' behavior of the staff
Exceptional location, very high-quality services

Staff are very polite and helpful with all matters of importance. The views from the rooms are nice. Rooms are very spacious and beds are comfortable. Great amenities.

Because it’s a smoking/non-smoking hotel, as a non-smoker myself, I could smell smoke everywhere, even in the non-smoking room I booked. The room is also definitely showing its age with the carpets and upholstery
