It was beautiful and clean. They provided free drinking water and discounts to shops in town. Breakfast was good and light. It was quiet and the location was very convenient.

There was no safety deposit box in the room. The doors were not so easy to lock and open. Seating at breakfast should be made more comfortable.

The property is beautiful and historic. It feels like you’re right in the gilded age. The spa is very nice too and the clawfoot tub was lovely. It’s a great location. The front desk staff was extremely accommodating and saved the day when I booked the corner room only to find that because of the additional windows and proximity to the bars / clubs below that it was very loud. I can’t recall her name, which I regret because she was so kind and helpful, but she managed to switch me to a different, much quieter room that still had the tub for me to enjoy.

If you’re a light sleeper like me, the corner rooms might want to be avoided. As a historic hotel the soundproofing is limited so it’s good to keep in mind. The only other thing I wouldn’t say I didn’t like, but was a bit disappointing for such a nice hotel is they only have a continental breakfast included. It was very tasty but there’s just something about having a full breakfast that’s special and would make it close to perfect.
