Everything much better than expected for 3*. Very friendly staff, always happy to help. Even managed to check me in early and kept a bag for me on check out so I could hike Uetliberg!

Much lower price for the value offered

The location is amazing, close to everything you need. The staff is helpful and kind. Rooms are very comfortable and clean as well as the bathroom.

The only thing which is not that important but matters to me is that they don't have a smart TV so you can't connect your Netflix account or whatever and most of the channels were in German and sadly I don't speak German...but as I mentioned is not such a big deal either but is the only thing I can think of.

The noisy street due to late-night clubs coming onto the street! A lot of shouting seems to pursue. There are church bells which after a while become comforting. If you want quiet, get a room looking over the courtyard.

We chose this more expensive hotel specifically because it said it has AC. It does have weak AC but the hotel controls it and turns it off at night. Noise from the street and the church bells going off every 15 minutes make sleeping with an open window for air a skill, not a convenience. Bathroom has a giant clear glass wall & door with a thin strip of mild frosting. Then they etched words into the frosting that you can see through and put mirrors around so you easily see into the bathroom with peripheral vision. Not sure my wife would like the lack of privacy but I know my father didn't. Mattresses are pretty thin. In 8 different hotels I used on my vacation, this bed was the only one that made my back a little sore. Breakfast was a typical cold German/Swiss continental buffet for €23/$27. It definitely is not a good value with breakfast cafes just meters away. However, this is a common problem across European hotels and is not unique to Hotel Scheuble.
