Generally positive mentions of cleanliness and housekeeping; guests noted clean rooms and helpful housekeeping staff.
Mostly praised — staff were accommodating (handled a fire alarm professionally), front desk and bartenders received strong praise — but some reports of understaffing, long reception lines and missing bellhop assistance.
Consistently praised as excellent — opposite Union Station and close to CN Tower and aquarium; very convenient for travel and events.
Mixed to negative: multiple guests noted outdated decor, small bathrooms, need for renovation, elevator/subway noise and older TVs.
Good lounges, added in-room WiFi and indoor parking were appreciated; some issues with slow room service and limited a la carte breakfast options.
Several guests felt the hotel was overpriced, mentioned unexpected fees/taxes and poor perceived value for the room rate.
Mixed feedback: some praised the restaurants and food, while others reported limited breakfast choices and slow/poor-value room service.
Generally a comfortable and enjoyable stay at an iconic historic hotel with strong location and service, despite noise, some outdated rooms and value concerns.
For over $1000. Per night, I think a fruit basket might make the entrance to the room more palatable.
I've stayed here before and love the hotel. It's perfect!

At check-in the front desk couldn't find my reservation I had prepaid for. I had to produce confirmation emails and open Booking.com. When she finally admitted to seeing it she claimed they were overbooked and there wasn't a 2 bed room available (3 of us were not going to sleep in a single bed). I HATE having to play a game to get what I paid for but I went through the whole "I need to speak with someone about this etc etc etc" for her to finally say "Oh looks like I just found a room!".
Beautiful, old-fashioned house with much to admire. Good location, close to the CN Tower

You reach the lobby via stairs, there is no elevator there, main entrance heavy revolving door. Long queue at check-in. Somewhat complicated elevator system. Our rooms were worn out, ventilation is not possible
