I stayed at the Farrington Inn with my fiancé from July 4th to July 5th this year. We paid $160, and for that price, the minimum we expect is a clean room and a functional bathroom. We wanted to stay the night to have a place to rest and take a shower before continuing our trip to Maine the next morning. However, both at our arrival and departure, the state of the bathtub was deplorable. It was full of dirt and hair and completely clogged. After seeing that, it was hard to rest thinking about the cleanliness of our room if that was the state of the bathroom, so we decided to sleep on top of the blankets with full clothes. Both times we tried, nobody was at the front desk to attend to us when we went to ask, and the next morning the bathtub was the same. I tried to take a shower, but when I opened the faucet, dirt came out of the sink, and I was faced with a pond of dirt. It was nauseating (see photo). I think it is outrageous that they charge $160 for such service, and that is why I put a complaint to booking.com (where I made the reservation), for a refund of the money. I was shocked when they told me that the owner had refused to return the money, and booking only offered to return 18.38 USD in Travel Credits. I honestly expected more from Booking; these are the kind of situations I use Booking for, for that extra security, but I guess they failed. I contacted the owner directly (FarringtonInnJohn@gmail.com), explaining all this and gently asking for my money back. They never replied.
