Very well-placed hotel with very friendly staff

Nothing particular

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Martelli. The location is excellent — just a few minutes' walk from both Santa Maria del Fiore and the train station, which made it extremely convenient for exploring Florence. The staff were always polite and helpful. **Our towels and bed linen were changed every day**, and toiletries such as shower gel and body lotion were replenished daily. The room was very well looked after. Breakfast was good and satisfying, although you do need to get up fairly early for it. Everything was straightforward and well organised. There were no problems leaving and collecting the room key, and when I had to leave the hotel at around 5 a.m., I could simply check out without any difficulty. I was also given a clear statement showing all the charges. The only small negative experience was with a book I had accidentally spilled some water on and left open on the bed to dry. It was moved while the bed linen was being changed and was slightly torn. The damage was minor, but it was still a little disappointing. Overall, an excellent location, good breakfast, attentive housekeeping and friendly staff. **I would happily stay here again.**

Location. But most of all, the amazing lady at reception (didn’t catch her name 🤦🏼‍♀️). She helped with hiring a vehicle, gave suggestions on places to visit. But most of all, was so friendly and welcoming at every interaction
