Our stay in NOLA was only a one day one night stay. We, my brother, my daughter and I, wanted to go to the World War II Museum, so we decided to make the short trip. We live in Mississippi. The hotel is in the perfect location, a very short walk. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was good and considering the hotel is in the art district, it was quieter than I expected. When we first arrived we did notice a few homeless people, but they didn’t bother us and they cleared out when the sun started going down. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The one thing I didn’t like about the property was the parking. Even though parking is literally right behind the hotel, you have to pay. That’s why we decided to stay at that hotel. It’s a short walk to the museum and restaurants. I’ve been to NOLA quite a bit over the years. I have ex-in-laws who still live there and I remember when you could park anywhere and it didn’t cost you. One other thing I didn’t like was putting up a $100 deposit. I very rarely travel anymore, but when I do I have never had to pay a deposit. As I write this review, it hasn’t been quite a week yet since our stay, so I haven’t received my deposit back yet. They say the deposit will be returned in seven days, we’ll see if that’s true or not in a few days.

When I arrived, I went to the receptionist. Unfortunately, at that exact moment, she remembered that she had something urgent to finish on the computer. Okay, I thought, it can happen. After about 2 minutes, during which she didn't even look at me, I said that I had a room reservation. No reaction. Eventually, she - fortunately - had time for me and gave me the key. The fact that breakfast practically consisted only of sugary foods, with an extremely modest fruit selection, no longer mattered. The first contact is crucial for me. During my numerous trips to the USA, something like this has never happened to me.

The cleanliness of the facility is not to our liking. The housekeeping team did not pay attention to detail. First, checked into room 909. At first glance I noticed the shower had visible stains. Then I moved into room 905 and noticed the same thing. I asked one of the employees to provide us with cleaning supplies, and she did. When I used the spray bottle she gave me, I started to move dirt with a simple spray. There was a lot of leftover hair in the tub, and I found some hair on the dry towels as well. We noticed stains on the sheets in 905 as well. The front desk lady was kind enough to change them for me. The breakfast was great!

Was charged a $50 deposit, which I still have not received back.

Was not told I would have to pay $48 a day for parking including taxes!! My cousins had to move to another room due to bed bugs. Our room was nice except for the squeaking bathroom door. There were smoking areas without ashtrays and no umbrellas. There was also a big rat that I told the staff about who is living inside the wall in the smoking area.
