For the price, no pen and note pad in the room, it's little things that make it nice

We were told by the receptionist we had a fabulous room when we were checking in only to find we were on the bottom floor on a noisy corridor between the bistro and hot tub area with a view of the car park. We had received an email inviting us to upgrade our room but when we responded to upgrade were told they had contacted us in error and we weren’t eligible. The bistro food is good but pricey and rather pretentious. The room furniture was dated and the bathroom tiny. The woman on reception when we arrived was very hard sell on tours and insistent on booking immediately which put us off. The shuttle service was great but we did mainly walk into town every day. The town of Banff is absolutely amazing.

Located right next to a busy motorway. Very very noisy even in the middle of the night. The staff did offer to change room to one overlooking a car park with practically no view which I declined.

I chose a room with a balcony and a view to take advantage of the hotel's geographical location, but these rooms also overlook the highway below and the rooms are not soundproofed so you can hear absolutely everything
