Great location but the room is too small.
The location was perfect for easily getting around New York. It was close enough to all the main attractions and the subway but far enough away to feel peaceful. I traveled with my 18-year-old daughter and we felt relaxed and safe in this hotel and location. The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful. The room was compact but very clean and modern, and the bed was so comfortable. I couldn’t find fault with this hotel.

I asked in advance if their staircase was accessible and open because I am claustrophobic and requested a low floor. In reality, those were the narrowest stairs I have ever seen in my life, and I got a floor that was not the lowest. It really ruined my experience.

The location was perfect for my needs on this trip: within walking distance of Penn Station, a couple of blocks from Broadway but far enough away from Times Square. The size of the room was fine for one person, but there was no chair for sitting (just the bed). The room was not overly noisy.

One thing that annoyed me was the front desk's insistence that I check myself in online after I arrived. They're literally not set up to check you in themselves. As I was early for check-in, my room wasn't ready, so the front desk suggested I follow a text link to check myself in; doing so required taking a picture of my ID. I didn't want to do that, especially walking around Manhattan while waiting for my room. When the room was ready, they had me check myself in using their iPad. I know companies are trying to make their customers do more and more work so they can hire fewer people; I don't like that trend.
The Empire State Building was a 2-minute walk, Times Square was 15 minutes away.
