I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Chengdu Century City West Tower and had an overall pleasant experience. The hotel has some great features that make it worth considering, though there are a few areas for improvement. The room was fantastic—spacious with a separate lounge and bedroom, a well-designed walk-in wardrobe, and 1.5 bathrooms. Everything was clean and well-maintained, which added to the comfort. However, I was only able to book a smoking room, which wasn’t ideal for me as a non-smoker, but it could be a great option for smokers. One challenge I faced was during check-in. The staff spoke very little English, which made the process a bit tricky since it was primarily conducted in Chinese. This could be an issue for travelers who don’t speak the language. Another downside was the lack of a bar available that evening. I had to head to the neighboring Intercontinental for a drink, which was inconvenient but manageable. On the positive side, the hotel’s location is excellent, with easy access to the convention center—perfect for business travelers. Despite a few hiccups, I liked my stay and would consider coming back, especially for the spacious and well-appointed rooms.

The cost-effectiveness of the hotel itself is impeccable. The rooms are clean, and the staff is very friendly. It's less than a 10-minute walk to the metro station, so the access was good.
