Outdoor pool is freezing! Room soundproofing is so-so.

Actually, there is nothing to mention that was not liked, just things to consider if you find it challenging: it is located right next to the Toboggans, so on a steep slope (for driving). The dinner at the hotel is delicious but portions are small except on Madeira night (Wednesday evening), it is definitely recommended to reserve for dinner. The 1st and 2nd floors of the hotel have balconies or outdoor seating, the 3rd and 4th floors only have a window, and on the corner of the same floor, there is a shared balcony.

The view of the city is very beautiful. The outdoor areas are also well maintained, especially the pool and breakfast area. The location is very convenient for excursions (but not for sightseeing or going out in the center). Three times a day there was a free shuttle service to get to the center, which is very convenient for guests without a car. One of the two is definitely necessary here, as otherwise, you cannot get around. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

The interior of the hotel is outdated. Very loud air conditioning that doesn't really cool. Rooms are very stuffy. Old bathroom with only the essentials. Breakfast was okay, but the selection is not large and not very diverse. All in all, it was okay. However, you would expect more from a 5-star hotel. Room windows had to remain closed, otherwise, cockroaches would crawl in.
