Many reviews report mold, bad smells, stained sheets, dirty/clammy bathrooms, clogged sinks and generally poor cleanliness (including disgusting communal bathrooms).
Multiple comments praise staff as very friendly, accommodating and helpful; reception apologized and attempted to assist. A few notes about difficulty contacting the owner, but overall service is a clear positive.
Consistently described as a practical, central downtown location—convenient for sightseeing—but reviewers warn the surrounding area can be rough, noisy from nearby clubs, and attract homeless/drug activity.
Rooms are often smaller and more basic than advertised, with old-style buildings, loud portable AC units, some rooms lacking private bathrooms, occasional no hot water and uneven maintenance.
Mixed amenities: some rooms have AC, fans and a small fridge; there is no proper breakfast in many cases but free coffee/muffins are mentioned. AC reliability and shower shelving are inconsistent.
Frequently described as good for the price and a reasonable budget option given the central location—suitable if you accept minimal, low-cost accommodation trade-offs.
No substantial breakfast offered (guests rely on nearby patisseries), though free coffee and muffins are available; overall limited F&B offerings.
Mixed overall: many guests value the staff and central location and find it acceptable for a budget stay, but persistent cleanliness, noise and comfort issues made stays unpleasant for others.

The room was musty and was a 2 star standard
Location was good, very near to old Montreal, city hall Notre Dame church, Chinatown, underground Montreal mall, very convenient and walkable distance, doesn't need to drive with a car.

Portable cooler/AC was not good, sounding loud. We saw many homeless people around that area.
