Unfortunately, we couldn't find the Riad. There was no response to my email. We were standing in the middle of the market in the Medina with our suitcases, called but unfortunately no one wanted to help us further. Eventually, a stranger passed by who knew the Riad and led us there. We never experienced this during our entire trip to Morocco!

The receptionist (woman) was very unfriendly, couldn't pay with Visa, couldn't pay cash with Euros, the bedspread and the sheet were not freshly washed, the bedspread smelled musty, as it was humid, smoky air seeped into the room, the window faced a small stuffy air shaft, even the room facing the courtyard did not get fresh air into the house, as it had a covered inner courtyard. The fresh bread only arrived after I finished my breakfast

Breakfast is very correct. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the Medina of Essaouira. We were lucky and got the only room with a small balcony overlooking the street. The quality-price ratio is very appropriate.

It's worth trying accommodation in a Riad (although it poses certain problems for travelers with a rented car). The atmosphere of the old city, the Riad's architecture, the interiors, and the rooftop terrace are amazing! Nice atmosphere, super friendly host, good breakfasts - everything is close by. Note - getting lost in the medinas is quite common - finding the right Riad among the winding streets, too. This is where the adventure begins!
