I don’t like posting two star reviews, but in this case I have to. My wife and I booked up late - I assume the late availability was due to a cancellation - for the night of the Champions League Final. Price ludicrously inflated - although understandably so - at €388 instead of the usual €55. I booked a double room; confirmed by email. When we arrived at the hotel around 2pm, we were checked not into a double room, but a room with three sets of bunk beds. We were frankly too tired to argue, having set off from home at 3am. And on the plus side we were being allowed to check in an hour prior to standard check-in time. We just wanted somewhere to rest for a few hours. However, in addition, the room wasn’t entirely clean and there were no toiletries in the room. The receptionist had asked me to pay the City Tax - it wasn’t until we returned home that I clocked that it had already been included in the price. I therefore ended up paying it twice. On returning after the match, we asked for some soap so that we could shower. The reception team had to scrabble around for some - claiming that as the hotel was being refurbished such items were not made readily available by the owners. Nonsensical, frankly. We left the hotel at 3.30am to get back to the airport - no point in discussing matters with the night staff… I complained by email when we got home. And put a hold on the credit card payment. That was a week ago - and we have heard nothing from the hotel owners. I’m sure that the hotel is a perfectly adequate spot for backpackers, students etc in the normal course of events, as it is very close to the main train station, and we were prepared to make allowances for the refurbishments. But it is difficult to describe it as royal, it is nowhere near a park, and can hardly be called boutique. Hopefully at some point we will hear back from the owners.

The room was too hot, couldn't sleep well, if we left the window open a pigeon would come in. It would be worth installing a mosquito net so that at least ventilation could be possible
