Guest sentiment

  • Cleanliness7.5

Mixed reports: several guests praised cleanliness, but at least one review called out dead flies in the bathroom and damp-smelling bed linen, so cleanliness is slightly below average overall.

  • Service9.5

Outstanding — multiple guests highlighted exceptionally kind, helpful and attentive staff, upgrades, and long-stay care (treated like family), so service is a strong standout.

  • Location8.5

Excellent central location for city palace, ghats and shopping with great rooftop views; considered highly convenient by many guests.

  • Room Quality8.5

Generally praised as pretty, cozy and well decorated with good views and useful amenities (fridge); a few mentions of rooms feeling slightly dated for some guests.

  • Amenities8.5

Strong amenities highlight rooftop pool, restaurant and bar; very good facilities overall, though one guest reported privacy concerns (people filming at the pool) and parking/access can be inconvenient.

  • Value for Money8.5

Many guests described the hotel as excellent value for money and memorable for the price — broadly positive sentiment on value.

  • Food and Beverage8.5

Food receives consistently positive mentions (good western and Indian options, praised breakfast and pancakes); generally rated well by guests.

  • Overall Experience8.5

Overall very positive stay for most guests — rave reviews about staff, rooftop, pool, views and value, with a few notable negatives (cleanliness incidents, privacy at pool, parking) tempering an otherwise excellent experience.

It was nice, the property was well maintained, the food was amazing, and the view was also nice, and it was very close to Lal ghat

Beautiful property, very well maintained with large and refined rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Panoramic terrace, probably with one of the most beautiful views of Udaipur and Lake Pichola. Excellent restaurant, delicious food, and at sunset they make everything magical by filling the terrace with candles. Great area to explore the city. A stone's throw from the City Palace! Also, the panoramic pool is beautiful.

Bathroom not as well maintained as the rest of the property and the room but still with everything necessary

Perfect hotel location, rooms are like a small palace (with doors opening onto the hall and interior windows or street-facing without a view). The view from the terrace, the breakfast where they were accommodating with choices

The pool was too chlorinated with construction work during the day, which did not allow staying. The air conditioning was either very cold in one room or a fan too noisy in the other

The property is ideally located for diving into the local scene. It is located on one of the tiny roads/paths that are just wide enough for two motorcycles to pass. No cars. You can walk for hours just exploring the old city or you can walk ten minutes to see the city palace (highly recommended) or 5 minutes to see the local puppet/folk dancing show - also HIGHLY recommended. And five minutes downhill takes you to the edge of the lake and the port for getting a boat to tour the lake. And you can walk up to the hotel roof and look out over the lake and see the water palace and the other side of the lake, facing buildings. Also on the roof is a lovely pool and a great place for drinks and food. The food I had was very good but priced 50 percent higher than in the town - but that's convenience. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The property is billed as a heritage house and it definitely still has that feel and location. If you want 5-star sterile luxury, book somewhere else outside the city. If you want a real cultural experience, and can simultaneously walk around dung and avoid motorcycles zipping past you, then stay here. If I return to Udaipur, I'll book the Udaigarh

The bed was adequately comfortable but not cushy. The linens were not outstanding, they felt like they had been washed in hard water. There is hot water in the room, but you must request that the front desk turn it on for you. I took two cold showers before I thought to inquire about it. It's hot there, so the cold shower was fine, but sometimes that's not what you want. So ask. It's an easy fix and one that I think they should put on a note in the room. The AC was very loud providing adequate cooling but with a deafening source of white noise that cancelled out other sounds. The location is tough to find. Be sure you have data on your phone (my eSim never connected - avoid Nomad) OR you have a detailed map to the hotel. The taxi that takes you from the airport cannot drop you off at the hotel. I wandered around a bit with my suitcase asking a few people for directions and getting approximately there but finally just asking for help to get there. A kindly cafe owner got one of his staff to take me there direct on his motorcycle (with my suitcase on my lap). Once there, it was more or less easy to find my way around the city, though GPS would have been helpful. When I left the hotel, the staff booked a taxi for me (INR 1050) and two of their staff carried my luggage for me to the taxi meet point about 500 meters from the hotel

The staff is very helpful, they helped us with dance show tickets, with the taxi ride when leaving, and at the restaurant, everyone was very attentive to our children, thank you!

A bit noisy in the evening
