Die Zimmer und Betten waren dreckig. Wir hatten das Gefühl dass die Betten nicht neu bezogen werden. Auf jedem Bett waren mehrere Haare. Unter den Betten waren ebenfalls Haare und Dreck. Ebenfalls war alles im Hotel in einem stark gebrauchten Zustand - Zimmer, Betten, Bäder, Flur, …Dadurch war das Gesamtbild sehr unangenehm und wir haben das Hostel sofort wieder verlassen

There are many shared hostels in LA that offer surprisingly cheap accommodation. Samesun in Venice was one of the more expensive ones by LA standards, but still at an absolutely great price. I chose it for its location - and I wouldn't change a thing about that decision. The hostel has a fantastic location right next to the iconic Venice Beach, which gives the whole area and the hostel itself a unique surf vibe. There are plenty of local amenities nearby (shops, a bank, bars), and the city bus is easily accessible. The hostel itself is well laid out; there are plenty of restrooms, a common lounge for hanging out, and a kitchenette. The shared spaces were almost always kept very clean. The staff is great and friendly. A huge plus is the free breakfast - don't expect a European-style buffet, but it's great for filling up in the morning, and sharing it with other guests is an excellent way to socialize. I got a well-lit room with a view of the beach. The mattresses and pillows were perfectly fine. There is a small locker available (you need your own padlock, which is standard for hostels), and the rooms also have their own en-suite bathroom. Another huge plus: even though check-out was at 11:00 AM and my flight wasn't until midnight, I could spend the whole day at the beach, store my luggage for free, and use the common areas, a shower, and towels in the evening before heading out. This is definitely not a given everywhere! Overall, I feel Samesun is on a similar level of quality as hostels in Western Europe. And it's one of the places with the best atmosphere I have ever stayed at. Thank you so much!

The only minor downside is that there was often a lot of sand throughout the hostel and in the rooms. It's completely understandable since the hostel is right by the beach and the flow of people is huge. They can't clean it every 30 minutes. But it's just good to keep in mind that this is truly a beachfront hostel, which means sand everywhere, all the time. Another tip for first-timers in LA (which has nothing to do with the hostel itself) is that LA is absolutely massive - bus rides can easily take up to two hours just to reach a nearby landmark or venue. If you stay here, I would recommend focusing on activities around the beach, because if you plan on general city sightseeing, the daily commuting becomes a very exhausting part of your day after a while.

Todo excelente, la ubicación, el lugar, la habitación todo perfecto, el único inconveniente fue que se adelanto el vuelo y llegue la noche anterior, el muchacho que estaba en la conserjería la verdad que no fue muy amable y me mato con el precio, por una noche extra, me cobro el doble de lo que había pagado, llegue al rededor de las 23.30 hs

Excelente acomodação, ideal para o público jovem: é um hostel sem luxo, mas cumpre bem sua função para dormir e relaxar à noite. As camas são confortáveis e o café da manhã oferece o básico. A equipe é excelente, e um dos funcionários é brasileiro, gente fina demais. Também fica a duas quadras do ponto de ônibus. Vale a pena, pode se hospedar com tranquilidade.

A limpeza do banheiro ocorre uma vez por dia, e o pessoal toma banho à tarde, deixando o ambiente encharcado, mas sem maiores problemas. A única coisa que posso reclamar é isso.
