The breakfast room was a bit too crowded and it take most of the room of the reception. There is also only one lift for 7 floors.
Breakfast was excellent and diverse. Location was good with walkable distances to all the main sights of Edinburgh. Rooms were comfortable. The man who walked around reception during breakfast and when we arrived was extremely friendly and even gave us takeaway cups for coffee when we left to town. Felt very welcomed! Thank you.

The floor of our room was extremely dirty. When we first walked in, it was sticky everywhere and when we wiped it with a clean cloth it was completely black. Socks turned entirely black after a few minutes in the room. We understand that people usually use shoes inside, but we still expect a hotel room to be properly cleaned. This was very disappointing. Luckily Praise from reception was very helpful and organized a new room for us. The second thing we were a bit disappointed in; breakfast wasn’t ready at 7am. We had an early flight on our departure day and were really surprised to find out that some breakfast items were only ready at 10 or 15 past. Thirdly, one lady at the reception was not as helpful and customer service oriented as others. When we asked about the breakfast items, she didn’t even ask the chef when the breads were coming and didn’t seem to really care about us as guests. She told us to wait and that they were coming. She also didn’t smile once during our stay.
