The house was a lovely old Cretan house renovated to a high standard, and Popi was a wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable host - really friendly and full of suggestions of where to go next. You will need to have a car to get around as it is not at all central, and do not expect a modern building - but it was full of character and the aircon worked very well, so in my eyes it was perfect! I would happily stay here again, and hope to do so some day in the coming years.

The apartment is really very nice, located in a small picturesque village with a magnificent view 25 minutes from Heraklion. A traditional tavern worth a visit is a 5-minute walk away. Unfortunately, a big negative point on cleanliness (a lot of dust, very dirty oven) and functionality (no kitchen worthy of the name). Fortunately, we left in the morning and returned in the evening. A thought for the next tenant, André, who after a 16-hour flight could not reach the owner and came knocking on our door at 8:00 a little lost, while we had to leave at 11:00.

We stayed in a small village not far from the city center, a place with its own history and wonderful people. Everyone was kind and welcoming. Right next to where we stayed there was a church, and spending time there lets you truly feel the local culture. We stayed in the “Sofia” apartment, which had its own terrace very cozy and homely. There was a kitchen, the only thing missing was a kettle, but overall it’s a very pleasant place with everything you need close by. The host is really friendly and showed us the nearby areas.
