The room was not prepared to the expected standard. I was allocated an unrequested connecting room, which affected my privacy and comfort. The room also lacked tea, had an unpleasant stench, and contained an unclean toilet, a nonfunctional television, and an unusable safe with no batteries. I reported these issues to the porter that evening and was told an engineer would attend. However, because it was after 8:30 pm, repairs were deferred until the following day, when I was due to check out. I had already booked a further three-night stay the following week, but cancelled it after this experience and moved to Okada instead. The hotel therefore lost that booking as a direct result of these issues. Management should review how the room was released in this condition and take steps to prevent similar problems from affecting other guests.
