I now have figured out the difference between bedroom types. In a previous stay I had a bedroom with a private door. This room was more like an inefficiency room which did not have a private door on the bedroom. My next visit I’ll know what to ask for. The communication was a bit difficult. I called several times with no response, sent emails. I was trying to see if I could change rooms for an apartment with a door on the bedroom. I would have been willing to pay an additional fee but after three days before I received an explanation I had to figure out something with my sons stay with me. We were moving him and I had planned for him to stay until we could get his home situated.

This is a furnished short-term apartment in a luxury high-rise building. For a multi-day stay, it was great to have a good kitchenette and separate sleeping spaces (bed area/couch) for my son and me. The rooftop pool area was very nice, about 20 yards long so reasonable for laps; not crowded and plentiful seating. Roof top has a view of the Capitol dome. I also discovered the fantastic coworking area, a great place to get work done. Public areas were all very well kept. Great for a long-term stay. I wish I had paid a little more for a balcony but was happy to discover access to the outdoor courtyard spaces. I would happily come back for a longer-term visit (especially during pool season). There is no restaurant on-site but a terrific restaurant down the block and easy walk to basics (Subway, Chipotle, Starbucks, grocery store and CVS).

The downside to an apartment vs hotel is it's hard to get help. The front desk is not there to manage move-in or provide assistance; they work for the Revel residents, not Global Luxury Apartment renters. There is supposedly an office on the third floor but it has weird hours and I was never able to find it. The "24-hour support" takes hours to respond to text and email. I understand why, but like I said, it's a downside to not being in an actual hotel. The only real problem I had was getting the Door app up and running. It's a secure building so you need access to get in the door, into common areas and into your room. The app instructions were conflicting ("Download the Latch app" was wrong) and confusing. Ultimately I just used the key codes, which were annoying but got easier over time.

These apartments are a wing of managed apartments that are in a larger complex (Revel) with private residents. As such, the ground floor reception is only for residents - and all the communication we had with Global Luxury Suites was via email. This wasn't an issue - the instructions for the app that gave you door, lift and room access were clear and worked well for us. The water pressure however was woeful - and not something that can be fixed during a stay.
