This accommodation was like a big hug!!! We loved Alex and the other ladies of the courtyard and hope to meet them again!! Alex, we are waiting for you in Greece for a lot of swimming!!!

I do not understand the many overly enthusiastic reviews. Unfortunately, the structure has too many downsides that did not thrill me. First of all, the smell of damp/mold was a bit everywhere from the common areas, to the room, to the bathroom. Really tiny room with practically no support points. Uncomfortable bathroom. The location, nice and traditional, is inconvenient in many ways. Breakfast times are inconvenient for those who need to leave early to visit things in the early morning. In short, if you have to stay more than 1/2 nights, staying here can become frustrating.

Kelly's Courtyard Hotel is a wonderful, safe, exquisitely located, and quirky place to stay in that it is an old, beautiful home in a historic hutong. Returning to this place in the evening was like stepping back into a comfortable, beautiful oasis. The staff was kind and welcoming, and had fantastic local suggestions for restaurants. They even helped us procure tickets. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again... wonderful choice!

Basically, everything was fine, even the somewhat small shower. Finding the place is a bit tricky the first time, but the hotel did indeed share detailed and helpful directions. I have no complaints.
