I have stayed here many times in the past and find it is suitable for all my needs. Single room, good breakfast, access to my requirements (University and John Rylands Library). Excellent staff, warm welcome, friendly atmosphere, cannot be faulted.

There was nothing at all that I "did not like". For my needs, a comfortable base, it is just about perfect. Friendly staff available when necessary, quietly in the background if things are going well, which they always do.

Room was too hot even with window at its widest - that was just pipes, no radiator on, but I was sweltering and there seemed to eb no way of addressing that (I told reception who alerted maintenance staff but it was the same the second night)

The bathroom was too small. Double room was reasonable. If you are more than average size/height or claustrophobic, you will struggle to use the bathroom.

The hotel staff were amazing the chef in the morning breakfast room was interacting with everybody he was very Jolly and helpful . Plenty to eat . Short walk to bus stop to get the bus into Manchester town centre .

Fantastic for the price, complementary breakfast was delicious and filling, comfortable beds, wonderful and helpful staff.

Two sets of very steep stairs to the top floor with no lift, which was fine for me as a young woman but older people or those with reduced mobility may want to request a ground floor room. Bathroom fan was extremely noisy but these are nitpicks of course.
