On a winter night, there was ONE blanket in the 2-bed apartment (with 2 beds) we booked. One bed at least had an electric blanket (thank goodness!) The gent on duty, after giving me excuses about how he couldn't get us another blanket, eventually (seemingly reluctant and annoyed that I'd insisted) arranged one, which turned out to be dirty/smelly. Totally repulsive and disgusting. Needless to say we did not use it. We were provided with ONE hand towel, which we also couldn't use because it was not 100% clean either. Kitchen also not as clean as on previous occasions we stayed there. Curtains in the bedrooms had a bunch of hooks missing and therefore inadequately closing up. I was so disappointed with our experience this time. Stay Ulo Atholl Gate has always been our accommodation of choice whenever we're in Jhb, but this has completely soured my desire to ever book there again. Clearly, attention to necessary detail is now lacking and the establishment is possibly taking guests for granted? I can't understand why else they'd drop their standards like this. Really really sad.
