Everything, especially the staff who prepared breakfast for me in advance to allow me to catch the plane. Well done everyone and the structure is beautiful.

I have never had to ask for my money back and leave a hotel before. The only good thing is they eventually agreed to the refund.

I began to feel uncomfortable walking towards the hotel, down a road covered in graffiti, including 'tourists go home'. It got worse when there was no one at the reception desk, just an enormous dog. When a man came through the door from the road saying he was the owner, it felt like we had walked into an episode of Fawlty Towers. Rather than being shown to our room, we were sat down at a table (next to uncleared empty tables). We were brought a succession of cakes and cheap wine with no explanation. Just shouts of... 'this is good'. While this was a mark of hospitality, it was forced and unwanted. We tried to ask if our room was ready and it was as if we had caused great offence. Eventually a woman arrived with a map of the area and scribbled information about places we should visit. Still no room. We asked again to get to our room. Again it seemed we had done the wrong thing. She then went to get a key and having explained the complex double side door entrance process if the main door was closed we were given the key and pointed to the lift. The narrow corridor was filled with cleaning equipment and linen stored on a moped. There is quirky and there is weird! The room was tiny, two small single beds pushed together with soggy mattresses that were 3 inches from the old velour headboard. The street noise was loud, including a woman screaming. Greying towels and a very basic shower room. No chair, and nowhere to put anything. We decided not to stay. At first the owner pushed back, saying there were other rooms but eventually agreed to arrange for a refund, though it took a while to organize. When my husband came down with our bags from the room, he expressed his frustration and was greeted with anger. The owner shouted at him in a very aggressive manner shooing him out of the building and shouting as we walked down the road.
Very friendly welcome with a greeting and a piece of Cassata and a glass of white wine. We never had to worry about water, every evening we could take water from the bar.

Everything is great
This little hotel is exceptional, location, staff, and amenities. The breakfast is absolutely delightful. The pool area is divine to chill out after a day touring beautiful Palermo. Also, one day, after returning from sightseeing, the owner gave me a cannoli, it was divine. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it. 💗
