We recently stayed at Macmillans Villas. The accommodation largely matched the photos and what we expected. However, there were some important points that negatively affected our stay. Firstly, the safe did not work, which was very inconvenient. We had to take our valuables with us every time we left the house, which did not give a particularly secure feeling. Much more concerning, however, was that someone - either the owner or an employee (it was never clearly communicated) - entered the accommodation every time during our absence without informing us beforehand or asking for permission. We found this very intrusive. Such access should be clearly communicated in advance and only done with the guests' consent. Additionally, despite full payment before arrival, we were asked again to pay the full amount one day before our departure. This led to unnecessary confusion and frustration, even though it was eventually resolved. Another negative point was the quality of sleep: the beds were unfortunately very uncomfortable and squeaked loudly with every movement, significantly affecting sleep. Furthermore, there was insufficient darkening of the bedrooms, making it very bright early in the morning. The location of the villa is also not ideal for exploring Praslin. We would recommend future guests to stay in Côte d'Or instead.
