Hotel El Ganzo was excellent, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, a couple of days before our departure, we were notified that the rooftop pool was closed for repairs and expected to reopen Monday. Since we were staying until Wednesday, we weren’t too concerned. However, it didn’t reopen until the day we left, which was disappointing since the rooftop pool was one of the main attractions for us. It would have been a nice gesture to offer guests something in return, such as a discount on spa services or a room upgrade, given the inconvenience. Food and drinks were also on the pricey side. Overall, a beautiful hotel with great staff, but the pool closure and lack of compensation took away from the experience

The hotel is away from the town center and we took an uber in every day to walk around and explore. We would have stayed more at the hotel if the rooftop was open.

This was probably the strangest hotel experience I have ever had. It was not because of staff, they were nice. But the hotel is completely unprepared for weather. Cabo has rain during Aug - Sep but when rain started their electricity cut off in the rooms because they don’t have sufficient generator. Food was offered but my room was without any electricity most of day. I requested refund for the portion of the day without it but this still was not addressed. I couldn’t open window and fan was electricity based so I was sweating like crazy and very miserable. Elevators didn’t work and both beach and pool were closed (not exactly sure why since customers are wet anyways because of swimming. They could just not allow us to go swimming?). Additionally the hotel is far from any nice beach (there is a public beach but I didn’t see anyone swimming there) and there are no things to do around. You have to either walk (in the sauna-like weather) or take Uber. So once their beach/pool is closed you are screwed, there is virtually nothing to do. All in all, hotel team were nice but whoever manages or owns this should consider a generator. On a plus side food was good and service was nice. Beach club was ok - it didn’t have this nice open sea view that I was expecting, but on a plus side it was protected. There are couple of restaurants around hotel if you want to mix it up, otherwise you have to go to town. Rooftop pool was nice and for those who like this kind of thing I am sure it is a perk.
