Location not easy to locate in the Lijiang Old Town as it is tucked in a corner without clear marking. No proper housekeeping, poorly maintained, leaking toilet, broken bathroom door can't close properly. This wasn't the property I originally booked. Booking.com notified the name changed and emphasised everything unchanged -- NOT TRUE!!! They changed to location and not the one I booked. Different addresses.
When the taxi driver phoned the hotel someone came to take me. Apparently I was taken to a different hotel! Only when I asked they told me briefly that there was some kind of over booking issue. I did not receive any compensation. I booked a place based on reviews telling that there were English speaking staff in the hotel. In the place I was taken to there were no English speakers. The host did his best and the room was ok even though it did not have the promised mountain view.

I was notified that the place as advertised (with Mountain Views, and 360 degree views) was not available at my arrival and I was taken to another location managed by the same owner. Later I was told the place I initially booked got storm damage in early October 2024. So it is no longer available. However I was not notified by the property owner or manager for this change. If they did, I could have chosen something else in the area.
The room was beyond expectations for the price – truly a great value! It was well-maintained and offered all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!

The water pressure from the room above was a bit weak. If this could be improved, it would make the stay even better!

The photos in Booking app was professionally taken and the actual was no where near the photos featured. The bathroom walls were moldy. Sink taps were loose and leaking. There is no bath towels, but they provided disposable bath wipes. The chain-smoking young man who “greeted” us was rude and unwilling to help with our luggage. The inn is located on a hilltop and it was tough to climb up the steps with heavy luggage. Not recommended for those with young children, elderly and if you have weak knees.
