So friendly and supportive

Positive points: The hotel is very well located, in the old town of Lijiang. The rooms are clean and spacious. The owner speaks very good English and is easily reachable via WeChat. Negative points: We were disappointed because the owner sometimes gave us poor advice. We wanted to go to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and he told us we needed to book three days in advance, with expensive price. However, after doing our own research, we realized we could book for the next day at a much lower price, even including all expenses (transportation, clothing rental, oxygen, entrance fees, etc.). After returning from our trek in the Tiger Leaping Gorge, we asked if we could stay at the hotel again (we were 3 people instead of 4 this time). The owner offered us a "triple" room at a price that seemed very reasonable. However, we later discovered that the third bed was actually very small and not suitable for a tall adult. It wasn’t really a proper triple room. He also recommended we go to Dali by minivan instead of taking the train, claiming the time difference was minimal. In reality, the price is about the same, but the trip is much longer because the minivan picks up many passengers along the way! In short, we found it unfortunate that he seemed more focused on selling services than being fully transparent with us.
