We stayed at Novotel Nairobi Westlands for two nights during our Africa safari trip.
Unfortunately, there were several issues that we did not expect from a hotel of this brand and standard. On one of the days, the elevator stopped working. I asked the reception several times over approximately 30 minutes what was happening, but I was repeatedly told that the elevator was working, even though it clearly was not. I would have appreciated an honest explanation instead. Housekeeping was also disappointing. On the first day, nobody came to clean our room during the day. Only at around 5 PM did someone finally come and ask whether we wanted the room cleaned. For a hotel of this level, this is not the standard of service I would expect. The following day, housekeeping cleaned the room but removed one of our pillows and the face towels without replacing them. Another issue was the bathroom ventilation, which did not seem to work at all. There was also a problem with the electrical sockets. Some sockets were designed to accommodate thicker plug types commonly used by guests from parts of Asia, but unfortunately those sockets did not work. For an international hotel receiving guests from different countries, functional and convenient power outlets are very important.

Too expensive and the bottled water tasted weird, tasted like borehole water.
Perfect, except for the lamp on the right side of the bed: too low
