I just fell in love with the disconnection. It was rustic and simple, but equally had everything I needed, and I felt safe, secure, and taken care of by this little special cabin. The fireplace was amazing...very hot.

There was nothing I didn't like really. Perhaps some candles for lighting at night would have been good, and something to keep food cold (a cool box) but the strip lights provided usually had enough charge to get you through to bedtime if you charged them in advance.
It's simple, rustic, and keeps you close to nature but with the perfect level of creature comforts. The lack of WiFi/Internet was also really good.

For me, it was perfect and there was nothing I did not like. But it won't be for everyone. Some won't like it for the exact reasons I liked it, others due to logistics. San Mateo is 30 mins by foot. I brought no food and just walked everywhere, it was not a problem.
