Upstairs, a second bedroom was locked but occupied by other travelers... while the 3rd person in our group had to sleep on a sofa with basic comfort, without a pillow, just decorative cushions. We felt like we were sharing the accommodation but mostly enduring the neighbors' excesses.

The apartment is great. However, Tulum was disappointing compared to some years ago. Access to the beach is restricted by expensive beach clubs, sargassum has made beaches unusable, smelly, and ugly, which renders beach clubs redundant. If you are looking for an authentic Maya experience, steer away from the Riviera. It is gone, sadly.

The pool is small and the water seemed dirty. We did not swim. The breakfast had limited choices and was average.
