Firstly, the location is perfect! We did everything on foot. Just on our street, there are plenty of good restaurants, a little further a nice square with terraces, one street away is the town hall square with the sign of Porto and the metro is right next door. Secondly, the establishment has everything you need and it's clean. On our floor, there were, on one side, dormitories with their own bathroom and toilet, and on the other, two private rooms with our bathroom and toilet. I never had to wait for the shower and the cleaning was done daily. The room was just the right size, a bit short on storage space for our things, but nothing really bothersome. We were very comfortable there. Once the doors were closed, we couldn't hear any noise from the lively street. We appreciated the air conditioning when we closed the balcony doors.

Although there is a shared kitchen, it was often monopolized at dinner time for communal dinners organized by a hotel chef. We couldn't find clean utensils and felt out of place in the space. We preferred to eat cold in our room. Although everything is well isolated for outside sounds, you can hear the opening and closing of doors on the floor very well. Nothing too serious as everyone was very considerate and with earplugs it's fine.

In the evening, there were bedbugs in the bed. Very large ones. When we informed the reception, nothing was changed, and we had to sit in the lobby all night. Generally not particularly tidy and no comfortable seating.

Great location, very central. Beds were comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms were always clean. There is a light and a small shelf inside each bed cabin, and blackout curtains. Lockers are inside the room, each kept safe with a padlock (bring your own). Good size tables and sofas in the communal areas. All very clean. There is a clothes line outside to hang damp clothes.

The hand soap wasn't great quality so I bought my own. It would be nice if shower gel and towels were included as they are in many hostels. A few more hangers in the room would be nice as I had to put my towel on a lamp to dry a bit.
