Overall a positive experience despite some limitations.
To be honest, I don't really understand why this hotel has such a low rating. Personally, I had a positive experience and I think it's a perfectly fine place to stay in Beijing. One of its biggest advantages is the location. The hotel is very close to Qianmen Street, a lively pedestrian street full of interesting shops, restaurants, and places where you can enjoy delicious local food. Qianmen metro station is also only about a 10-minute walk away, which makes exploring Beijing very convenient. Of course, the building itself is quite old and doesn't look particularly impressive from the outside. The room isn't especially modern or elegant either. But honestly, I didn't come to Beijing to spend my time sitting in a hotel room! I just needed a comfortable place to sleep after a long day of sightseeing, and for that purpose, it was absolutely fine. The reception staff don't speak English, but communicating through a translation app is easy enough, so it wasn't really a problem. Overall, I had a good stay and I think the hotel deserves a better rating. If you're looking for luxury, this probably isn't the right place. But if you want a practical place to sleep in a great location while exploring Beijing, it's definitely a reasonable choice. I would happily recommend it to travelers who care more about location and sightseeing than luxury!
