The friendliness and helpfulness of the service staff were remarkable. The highlights of Porto were explained to us, umbrellas were placed outside the room overnight to reach the breakfast room dry. We really liked the quality and variety of the breakfast as well as its setting in the nostalgic premises. Our modern furnished room was sufficiently large and functional. The center of Porto could be reached on foot from the hotel in a few minutes. We were totally satisfied.

This is the 2nd time we stayed at this hotel. Breakfast is very good and served in the magnificent room located on the first floor of the castle. The reception staff is very friendly and welcoming. We had the royal suite, spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood is easy to access, the place is secure with a code door.

The plastering that is peeling on the ceiling above the door leading to the terrace (water damage?). The lack of staff at breakfast. The 2 poor ladies there have trouble keeping up and therefore properly replenishing the buffet regularly.
A magnificent castle with classic Porto architecture, converted into a hotel. In addition to a splendid setting, the room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast delicious, and the staff very welcoming. The hotel offers to stay in modern rooms around the castle courtyard, or in one of the suites of the main building. Each castle suite is uniquely decorated!

We have nothing to complain about the hotel. However, for those who do not like walking: it is located at the top of the famous Santa Catarina street. To walk up from the historic center, it takes a good half hour of ascent!
