We chose the hotel because we had already stayed at a Bahia Principe in Samaná and loved it, but this one was disappointing. We arrived at the hotel and they offered to go to lunch before checking in so we wouldn't miss lunch. The buffet restaurant was disastrous, very little variety of food, poorly presented, touched and scarce, too many people for such a small buffet, everyone bumping into each other to serve themselves. Then at check-in time (2:00 pm) they offered us an upgrade to the Esmeralda hotel of the same chain, on the same property. After offering and quoting us a price, they made us wait for 1 hour and then told us that option was no longer available, they had the Fantasy hotel (which had no beach access) but that one was more expensive, we agreed, then after waiting 30 more minutes, they told us they only had 3 rooms available at that price and since we had reserved 5 we had to pay extra for the two that were superior (a situation that upon arriving at the other hotel we realized was a lie, there were many economic rooms available). We arrived at the Fantasy hotel, it was already 4:00 pm, we waited 2 more hours for check-in, SUPER SLOW, not very efficient. They wanted to charge us more money, so we got angry and they respected the price they had quoted us previously. ALL VERY TEDIOUS

The food was truly above expectations, EXCELLENT, the pools fantastic, the bars, the attention really good, in all aspects, they must ensure that guests do not bring speakers that disturb the peace, that happened to us at the pool with the 3 Jacuzzis, they should not allow guests to bring speakers.

Guests bringing alternate speakers and playing music in peaceful areas like the pool with the 3 Jacuzzis, they must do something to mitigate the SARGASSUM on the beach shore, pass machines or something

Most of the staff treated us very badly and differently, you can notice the difference in treatment towards foreigners, Dominicans are not paid much attention and it's wrong because everyone there, whether foreigners or Dominicans, pay the same !!!! There shouldn't be differences !!!!! The worst hotel I've ever been to in my life! Previously I visited Esmeralda and the treatment was incredible, but with Turquesa I was not lucky!

I didn't like that they didn't serve lobster at any time. On the last day, I found a huge cockroach in the bathroom.
