I was skeptical about the good and bad reviews. In the end, it's a mindset thing. The hotel is 30 years old and not much has been done, but it has everything as stated on the website. Unfortunately, the management is not very committed, as more could be done, given the excellent location.

Arrived earlier than expected, before 12pm, we appreciated being able to settle into a well air-conditioned room with a sea view. It is possible to have coffee or tea, heat up a meal in a microwave, and make use of a small fridge. We were also able to leave very early for the crossing to Martinique at 7am. The ferry is a 30-minute walk away. The owner also offers to arrange the taxi ride for us. The bathroom is old-fashioned but everything works. The bed is comfortable.

This was a great value find in Castries. I stayed twice during my recent Caribbean trip. Great shower. Amazing terrace with Seaview. I would stay again.

This is great if you do not require lavish amenities but a clean room with peace and quiet at a low cost. I felt safe, however, upon arrival, no one mentioned that I had to turn on the wall taps myself to have power in the room. I spent 30 minutes to an hour trying to figure out how to turn the lights on, the television, and to be able to charge my phone, being that the outlets are not the same as in the USA. There is no office to go to upon arrival, The Property manager just appeared out of nowhere after me knocking on all sorts of doors for almost an hour in the heat. The caretaker just said oh here is your room and vanished. In addition, per the web for this property, it states that there are airport transfers, well only to the nearby airport not the Hewanorra International Airport, which was never disclosed, so when I arrived at the airport I called the property and I was told that no one would come pick me up because this airport is a little over an hour away. So a taxi will cost you $100. The people on this island charge because you are American and they know you need them to get around if you don't rent a car. However, the caretaker of the property was very gracious to assist me in other ways that I'm very grateful for despite the stress of not having transportation to the property or power once arriving that I had to figure out for myself having this being my first time to the island and a solo traveler.
