The hotel is old, but the location is excellent, in a great spot in Miraflores, very close to the shopping mall.

Breakfast could be better. The main issue we had, however, was with the payment. At check-in, the staff forced me to pay with the machine in soles instead of dollars, as is common in any other establishment. However, the exchange rate used was not the one from the machine itself - where you choose the currency conversion - but an arbitrary rate set by the hotel. In summary, the original reservation is made in dollars, the hotel sets a rate that obviously benefits them, converts 'on the side', and charges in Peruvian soles. This obviously increased the total projected cost, and I imagine it even goes against some of Booking's own rules. At the time of payment, I questioned the procedure, but the staff claimed they couldn't change the payment currency on the machine 'by order of management'. An obvious opportunism and arbitrariness that caught us off guard. In addition to this review, I will also report this behavior to Booking so that any responsibilities can be investigated. In short, considering the other points mentioned, the hotel is still worth it. But to avoid this little scam, plan to bring the payment amount in dollars (physical currency) and not suffer the same loss.
