Very disappointed I booked through hotel.com Found out that other guests who booked through Expedia paid 95-150 per night and did not have an additional hotel fee. The hotel had me sign a charge fee of 25.00 dollars if I washed my face and makeup got on the towel. The worst part was that you could not flush toilet paper down the toilet; you needed to dispose of dirty toilet paper in the trash can. There was a 45.00 dollar fine if you flushed toilet paper!

Great location and love the welcome drink and open bar for guests. Very historic (aka old) building but worth the value. Got a deal at $48/night. Staff is friendly.

Only stayed one night and wish we had longer. Staff was fantastic as was the room; we really enjoyed the bath & shower on the private balcony. Our flight wasn’t until 9 pm, and they had no problem holding our luggage until we had to get a cab to the airport. 10/10

I had a wonderful stay at El Colonial! From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The location was perfect, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was peaceful and relaxing. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Juan, PR.

The only thing we can say is good is the attention of the reception and bar staff, but the hotel is completely dirty.
