A great location in Downtown, close to the common and easy access to the subway. All staff were friendly and very helpful; ready to provide any extras that we needed. The hotel also provided snacks both in the room and in the afternoons near the reception. The room was comfortable and the hotel was clean. We loved the adjoining popular coffee shop where we decided to have breakfast. I will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Boston.

Very minor … I thought the decoration and carpeting of the floors outside of the rooms were dull.

A lovely welcome at The Godfrey. We arrived by MBTA and the subway entrances are just around the corner. The staff here are very welcoming and kind, warm and friendly. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine - very nice touch. Snacks in the room are replenished every day. Breakfast is at the Howell coffee shop downstairs, it's OK but it's also open to the laptop-bearing public, who monopolise the tables with a small cold beverage for hours on end. Bonjour around the corner is good but cramped and too popular; our favourite by far is family-owned Cafe 26, just over the road from Bonjour, for really excellent food without the faux- French interior of Bonjour. For dinner, nearby is MAST Italian (smashing), RUKA, next door, for sushi (I'm not keen on Sushi but RUKA changed my mind) and excellent cocktails, and Legal Seafoods is just over the road. Our last night was at Mooo steakhouse; we had a great time. Excellent steaks. The Godfrey is a great location; Boston is quite walkable, and the museums, ferries and other attractions are easy to get to. We recommend the Sunset Cruise, the Boston Tea Party experience (a good laugh) the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (Green line MBTA stops outside), a walk across the Common to the Park, over to Bunker Hill, and the biggest treat of all - the Isabella Gardner Museum, if only to see the Italianate courtyard. But hold that - the most fantastic visit of all was Boston Public Library. A stunning building - don't miss the John Singer Sargent murals, and the Edwin Austin Abbey room. All for free. Such splendour. Thanks to everyone at The Godfrey for helping to make our first visit to Boston so special.

Just a little thing for all US hotels - our UK and Euro adaptors make your double plug sockets into singles, so all hotels need more sockets, and near a mirror, please! We don't do make-up and hair in bathrooms! Also, our TV at the Godfrey didn't work - someone came up to fix it, but due to internet drop out it was impossible to watch and the TV came on and off at random, so we unplugged it. And I do like to watch the local news!

I would recommend the Godfrey to anyone! We loved this place and is an awesome location for the Freedom Walk ! They offer complimentary snacks and bottled water where most places charge for every little item touched. The bathrooms have a motion activated light which is nice when it is pitch black! The AC was so quiet that we didnt know it was running! And I recommend a back facing room, was so quiet I couldnt believe it and they had a noon check out! Super happy with the Godfrey, this place if off the chart!

There was nothing that I didnt like. This place is awesome! And the best city to walk in without feeling like you were going to be assaulted. Unlike in San Fran , LA. New York and Philly where it is expected.
